Home-made dinner rolls

These home-made dinner rolls are plain and simply, freshly out of the oven and irresistible! 



Makes 24
Total time: 2 hours

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp active yeast
2 1/4 cup warm water (30 degree)
1/8 cup butter, at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp salt
5 1/4 cup flour

Directions:

  1. Mix sugar and yeast in the warm water in a large mixing bowl, let stand for 5 mins or until foamy;
  2. Add butter, salt, and 5 cups of flour into the bowl; with a stand mixer, mix together at low speed;
  3. Change to knead hook, add the remaining 1/2 cup flour, knead at speed 2 for 5 mins, until the dough pulls off the side of the bowls easily; or knead by hand;
  4. Cover bowl and let rise to double the volume, about 1 hour;
  5. Line a 11x17 baking dish with parchment paper, divide dough into 3, then each into 8 pieces for a total of 24; make each piece into a ball and place evenly in the baking dish; 
  6. Cover baking dish and let rise again, about 15 mins; brush with melted butter;
  7. Heat oven to 400, and bake for 18 mins; out of the oven, brush with melted butter again;
  8. Cool slightly and serve warm.
Note:

Do not add too much flour or your dinner roll will be too dense. 

I make them on the weekend and kids love them very much!

原料:

2 大勺糖
1大勺发酵粉
2 1/4 杯温水
1/8 杯黄油
1 1/2 小勺盐
5 1/4 杯面粉

步骤:

  1. 把温水倒入糖、发酵粉中,5分钟;
  2. 加入切小的黄油;
  3. 加入面粉和盐;
  4. 揉面,大约5分钟;
  5. 等面团长到2倍大,取出分24份,各自揉成小球,放入烤盘,再次发酵;
  6. 烤箱预热到400度,面包刷上融化的黄油或者蛋液, 烤18-20分钟。
